Important Information

Getting married in Australia involves some important timeframes, including lodging the Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) at least one month before your wedding date and meeting in person. with your celebrant. Depending on your circumstances, you may also need to obtain certain legal documents before the NOIM can be completed and your marriage can be legally solemnised.

There’s also planning to consider in the lead up to your ceremony. Ideally, allow at least two months’ notice (ideally more) to ensure everything runs smoothly regardless of the type of ceremony you choose.

Please get in touch as soon as you're ready to begin the process. This allows us time to ensure I’m the right celebrant for you and to make the journey as seamless and stress-free as possible.

You can find the full legal requirements for getting married in Australia on the Attorney-General’s Department website. It’s a useful free resource if you have questions about the legal process.
